Legal & Compliance Counsel

Responsibilities：

The Legal and Compliance Counsel is functionally focused on Compliance matters for China to ensure the development and management of Compliance program. This includes leading or taking part of compliance policy drafting, implementation, improving the corporate governance practices, mitigating compliance risks and improving compliance culture of the company.

This role will also be required to provide legal advice on a range of legal issues on daily business including contracting, intellectual property, competition law, commercial projects and other contentious matters from a Chinese law perspective.

• Provide legal support and advise to the business team in relations to contracting, intellectual property, competition law and other contentious matters; Advise on complex commercial projects; Draft and review commercial agreements and other legal documents to ensure that the Company’s contractual and legal interests are protected; Keep abreast of the latest developments in rules and regulations affecting the business and operation of the Company in China, and ensure compliance with the law

• Assists on formulating compliance strategies and initiatives, developing and managing various compliance projects and programs including but not limited to AML, document retention, data privacy, anti-corruption, etc.

• Liaise with business units to implement and manage compliance programs; Assists with formulating controls and monitoring systems for compliance programs and implementing such controls and systems; Assists with reporting and updates to senior management on compliance issues;

• Conduct compliance investigations and handling enquiries from regulators; Handle compliance internal enquiries;

• Conduct compliance trainings and presentations

Key requests:

Legal education is a must

5-8 years legal and compliance related experience in major firms or MNCs

PRC qualified attorney at law.

Professional knowledge in handling in house legal and compliance matters

Understand business operating module in relevant industry, as well as good communication skills

Be capable of using English as working language
